Guided nature walks

All tours are led by Mr Erich Grzesista, an experienced educator, qualified experiential education specialist (EOS) and expert on local history and nature.

All activities are undertaken at your own risk. The tours start at the CAROLINGER CAFÉ or the WISSEGIGGL RESTAURANT in Weyer and last approx. 1.5–2 hours. Each tour costs €40.

“Experience nature”

A discovery walk along the Laubus stream towards Oberbrechen to the old mine tunnels at the “Finkel”. Along the way, the local wildlife and plants are presented in an expert and engaging way. For families, individuals and groups.

“Experience outdoor education”

What can we achieve as a family or as a group? Outdoor education challenges are meant to be solved together. Fun, adventure and experiences guaranteed.

“Experience herbs and plants”

A herb walk that is sure to solve a few mysterious puzzles. The forest and its trees, with their strategies and survival mechanisms, are also a topic of this tour.

“Outdoor survival”

Carving your own walking stick with a knife in a whittling course (€2 per walking stick) and making small tools are all part of the outdoor experience. Knowing your knots makes it easier to survive “in the wild”. Families and groups can gain new experiences here.

“Mining history of the Lahn valley”

On this excursion, a walk introduces you to the iron, silver and slate mining of the middle Lahn valley. This involves driving to the original sites, all of which are in the region around Weyer (approx. 5 km). Suitable clothing, sturdy footwear and sure-footedness are required.
